Need to Know
At Phoenixville Federal, we believe informed customers make confident financial decisions. This page is your go-to resource for essential updates, important notices, and key information about our products, services, and security practices.
What is "Jugging"?
We want to make you aware of an increasingly common type of theft known as “jugging.” Criminals engaged in jugging often wait in parking lots or nearby areas, watching for individuals who withdraw cash from banks or ATMs. They then follow the victim and steal the money—sometimes by breaking into the victim’s vehicle or by confronting them directly once they reach their next destination.
To help protect yourself, please review the following precautions:
How to Stay Safe
- Be aware of your surroundings when entering or leaving any bank branch or ATM.
- Conceal your cash before leaving the building; avoid counting or displaying money in public.
- Do not leave cash in your vehicle, even briefly. Thieves often strike within seconds.
- If you believe someone is following you, do not drive home. Instead, go to a busy public area or local police station.
- Report suspicious activity immediately to local law enforcement and notify us as soon as possible.
Your safety is our top priority. If you have questions or concerns, please contact your local branch or call me directly.
Thank you for banking with Phoenixville Federal Bank & Trust. Stay alert and stay safe.
